Library 1During 2017/18 a team of volunteers set up the new Amanda Crook school library, which is proving extremely popular.  In our first 5 weeks we made over 1500 loans to pupils!

The library is open at lunchtime from Tuesday to Friday with each KS1 and KS2 class allotted a slot once every fortnight. During their slot the children can come and browse the books, supervised by a volunteer librarian. They can choose up to 2 books to borrow for 2 weeks, which are logged using our library software, generously funded by the Friends of John Ball.

Books can be returned to the librarian or by dropping them into the Book Returns box outside the library door at any time. We ask everyone to look after the books carefully, so that as many children as possible can enjoy them. If a pupil doesn’t return a book or it’s in too bad a condition to lend again, they won’t be able to borrow any more books until it’s been replaced.

Enjoy your books, look after them, return them!

We’re keen for more volunteers to join our library team. No previous experience is necessary, although a love of books does help! We’re happy to have a chat and show you the library if you’re interested. Please enquire in the Office.

Our library stock is mostly made up of donations. At the moment we have plenty of books are very much appreciative of the generosity our community has shown.

We will let parents know when we may need more age-appropriate fiction and information books as long as they are in good condition.
