Welcome to the John Ball Primary School Website. At John Ball we offer you and your children a warm welcome to the school and hope that time spent with us is successful and enjoyable. John Ball is one of the highest performing schools in Lewisham and England. In 2014 and 2016 we were recognized by the Sunday Times as being one of the top 500 schools in the country. Since 2013 our KS2 results have been in the top 10% of schools nationally. In 2015 we achieved the highest results ever and are proud to be the top school in Lewisham after 98% of our pupils achieved Level 4 in Reading, Writing and Maths combined, the key performance indicator for the DfE. Again in 2016 we were one of the highest performing schools in the borough based on new assessments.
School Achievement, Results and Ofsted
I have great pleasure in enclosing the final report from our recent Ofsted inspection which I hope you will enjoy reading. As you will see we have achieved the highest possible grades in all areas and have been rated as an Outstanding school overall.
When staff and Governors reviewed our curriculum in 2011-12 we decided to adopt the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). We believe that the IPC best meets the needs of our children and offers a comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for every subject.
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
